'No need': Glasgow chippy divides customers by deep-frying popular snack

A GLASGOW chippy has divided followers with a video of them deep-frying a Tunnock's teacake.

Gennaro's Fish and Chips in Anniesland shared the clip on their TikTok page on Tuesday afternoon which garnered almost 50,000 views in four hours.

In the video, staff call the teacake 'Glasgow's finest' as they dare to coat it in batter and chuck it in the deep fryer.

Once it has crisped up, they cut into the teacake and 'marshmallowy gooeyness' oozes out.

The concoction has left some foodies eager to try it, while others are not so sure.

One wrote: "No need."

Another said: "You've taken that too far."

A third added: "Ohh I want this."

A fourth agreed: "I would eat that."
