Leeds United have learned their fixture fate for the 2022/23 Premier League season, with a trip to Wolves kicking off the new campaign. Jesse Marsch led Leeds to a great escape on the final day of last season, with a 2-1 win at Brentford sparking wild scenes as Burnley's home loss to Newcastle saw the Clarets slip into the Championship.
There was no doubting that Leeds played exciting football last time around, but a leaky defence ultimately cost Marcelo Bielsa his job - and very nearly cost the club their top-flight status. This time around, Marsch will be looking for a solid start with a home tie against Wolves on the opening weekend before a trip to Southampton the following week.
Things get trickier in game week 3 with an Elland Road clash vs Chelsea, though Leeds' schedule by and large appears to be generously spread out in terms of facing the League's big hitters in quick succession. One particular run of games Leeds fans will be hoping not to have to worry about is the run-in: if the club are in trouble once again come the end of the season, their final four games - Man City (a), Newcastle (h), West Ham (a) and Tottenham (h) - all fairly unforgiving.
