Fremantle coach Justin Longmuir has declared his team are far from "dead and buried", saying he has full faith they will rebound from Thursday night's shock 32-point qualifying final loss to Hawthorn.

And Longmuir defended his decision to rest key players at the tail-end of the home-and-away season, insisting it was the right call to make.
