Mohamed Salah has reacted to Liverpool's failure to qualify for the Champions League.
The Reds' hopes of making the top four were ended on Thursday night after Manchester United won - and Salah immediately released a statement insisting there is "no excuse" for his side not to achieve the "bare minimum".
A convincing 4-1 over Chelsea at Old Trafford on Thursday evening for United ensured there would be no chance of Liverpool securing a seventh successive season of Champions League football.

The Red Devils' points tally of 72 is unable to be bettered by Jurgen Klopp's men (66) regardless of the outcome of their visit to relegated Southampton on Sunday. Newcastle United (70) qualified for the Champions League earlier in the week.
For Salah, it will be the first time he has been made to compete in UEFA's second-tier competition since his transfer to Anfield in 2017.
During that time, the Egyptian has reached three Champions League finals with the Reds - one of which he won in 2019 as the club added a sixth European Cup to its collection after a 2-0 triumph over Tottenham Hotspur in Madrid.
And taking to social media after Liverpool's fate was confirmed, Salah admitted there was no excuse for the failure to finish outside of the Premier League's top-four places less than 12 months after they were on the verge of completing an unprecedented quadruple.
"I’m totally devastated," wrote the 30-year-old. "There’s absolutely no excuse for this. We had everything we needed to make it to next year’s Champions League and we failed. We are Liverpool and qualifying to the competition is the bare minimum.
"I am sorry but it’s too soon for an uplifting or optimistic post. We let you and ourselves down."
