Newcastle striker Callum Wilson has leapt to the defence of Liverpool star Darwin Nunez.

The Reds forward has been the subject of criticism in his debut season at Anfield. Liverpool agreed a deal with Benfica in the summer that could reach up to £85.5m with certain add-ons.

Since his arrival, Nunez has scored 10 goals in 26 appearances for Liverpool. Despite still managing to find the back of the net, the Uruguay international has still been criticised by certain pundits and sections of opposition fans.
