No breakthrough on Northern Ireland Protocol talks as 'gaps' in UK and EU positions

THERE has not been a breakthrough in UK-EU talks to solve the dispute over the Northern Ireland Protocol as "gaps" still remain in both sides' positions. 

In a joint statement following their latest meeting, the UK and European Union agreed to continue “scoping work” to solve the row. 

Foreign Secretary James Cleverly and European Commission vice-president Maros Sefcovic said they would continue to search for “potential solutions” in a “constructive and collaborative spirit”.
