- Nissan's long-awaited Rogue Hybrid goes on sale in America.
- Its starting price is nearly the same as the Honda CR-V Hybrid.
- The Rogue Hybrid gets a unique drivetrain that makes it drive like an EV most of the time.
Nissan has revealed the pricing of the all-new fourth-generation Rogue in the U.S. The Japanese automaker previously called it the Rogue e:Power, but has now rebadged it simply as the Rogue Hybrid.
The 2027 Rogue Hybrid will start at $37,065 including $1,575 in destination charges. That makes its starting price nearly identical to the Honda CR-V, but well over the Toyota RAV4, which starts at $33,495 and is now hybrid-only. The Rogue will also come in non-hybrid versions later. The Rogue Hybrid’s top Platinum AWD trim will set you back by $45,065.
"Hybrids are increasingly becoming the powertrain of choice for U.S. customers, and we believe that trend will only accelerate," Christian Meunier, the chairman of Nissan Americas, said in a press release.

The Rogue Hybrid arrives at a time when hybrid sales are on a tear in the U.S., boosted even more by the high gas prices due to the U.S. war in Iran. It’s late to the market compared to its rivals, but the timing couldn’t have been better.
Unlike its rivals, though, it gets a unique hybrid drivetrain. The Rogue Hybrid drives more like an electric vehicle, with only the electric motors driving the wheels. The combustion engine does not have a mechanical connection to the wheels—it’s only there as a generator, charging the 2.0 kilowatt-hour battery, which powers the motors. This is a non-plug-in hybrid, so the battery is only charged by the gas engine and energy recovered from regenerative braking.
Nissan said the Rogue Hybrid will deliver north of 40 miles per gallon of fuel economy. If true, that would put it right up there with the new RAV4 and better than the Honda CR-V.
Other than that, the Rogue packs all the latest technology and features you’d expect in this price range. It gets a 14.3-inch infotainment screen that will be standard on the Platinum trim and optional on the SR. This larger screen also gets Google built-in with Gemini support. A 12.3-inch screen will be standard on the rest of the trims with wireless Carplay and Android Auto. It will also get the ProPilot Assist advanced driver assistance system with automatic lane changes and supervised hands-off driving in traffic jams.
Only the SR AWD with SR Technology Package will be available this fall. The rest of the trims will be available by early 2027.
