Nismo Z Finally Gets A Manual, Nissan Launches Facelift In Japan

  • Nissan Z Nismo gains a six-speed manual, dedicated short-throw shifter and strengthened clutch with optimized throttle and ignition.
  • The refreshed Fairlady Z launched in Japan with larger-diameter monotube shocks for ride comfort and a returning front Z badge.
  • Pricing ranges from 5,737,600 yen (about $38,250) for the base Fairlady Z to 9,752,600 yen (about $65,000) for Nismo; special finish adds 49,500 yen (about $330).

Nissan just gave the Fairlady Z faithful what it has been asking for since the RZ34 launched: a stick shift on the range-topping Nismo. The refreshed Fairlady Z and Fairlady Z Nismo went on sale in Japan today, four years after the current generation debuted.
