Nintendo Switch 2 Firmware 21.0.1 Fixes Bluetooth Issues

Nintendo just rolled out a firmware update fixing major issues and improving stability for the Switch. The firmware version upgraded the Switch 2 to version 21.0.1.

One of the main fixes in the update was the Bluetooth connection issue. Before this update, the Switch 2 had a weird bug where Bluetooth devices like controllers or audio devices weren’t connecting after Airplane mode or waking up from sleep. The bug had been frustrating players for a long time, but with this Firmware 21.0.1, that’s a thing of the past.

The update was released on November 25 for both Switch 1 and 2. The update mainly focused on stability improvements (mainly quality of life updates) and improving the overall user experience.

The Bluetooth issue was the most concerning one. It had been troubling users for a long time.

Your Switch should get updated automatically if it’s online. If it’s not updating, try restarting the device. Here is also how to do it manually.

Updates are automatic on both devices. Try restarting and make sure the handheld is connected to the internet. You can also do it manually by following these steps.

  • Open your Switch
  • Navigate to System Settings
  • Then, look for Settings inside System Settings
  • Lastly, look for System Update, and download the new update

The Switch 2 has been rocking the charts since its release. In fact, Nintendo increased the profit expectations for the next year just based on how well the Switch 2 sold. Of course, stability patches like these will continue to improve the user experience and drive more sales.  They aren’t lacking on the games’ end either. Mario Kart World has performed quite well numbers-wise, and Kirby Air Riders is following closely as well.

Overall, this update brings much-needed fixes and improvements to the Switch platform. The Bluetooth connection bug is finally a thing of the past. You won’t need to restart your handheld every time to get the devices to connect. It should be seamless now. The other stability fixes have also improved the overall experience, and it will hopefully continue to get better.
