Whether you’re a fan of The Legend of Zelda or of Nintendo in general, there is a good chance you’re aware that Tears of the Kingdom is arriving on May 12. It’s already poised to be one of the biggest games of the year and Nintendo is making it even more special.
How, you’re asking? Well, that’s with a custom version of the Nintendo Switch OLED that is themed to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It’s a sharp looking console complete with themed JoyCons and a dock--you won’t get a copy of the game though.

How to Preorder The Nintendo Switch OLED The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Edition
Just like the Animal Crossing edition of the Switch and other special editions, this Zelda variant is all about the design. The JoyCons here represent classic Zelda with green and gold coloring throughout. Additionally, for folks excited for Tears of the Kingdom you’ll recognize the patterns and designs that wrap around.
Similarly, the included dock features a large Hylian Crest along with patterns from the game. It matches quite nicely with the JoyCons and should delight any fan of the series. Just as a standard Switch OLED dock this version sports an ethernet port for hardwired gaming when connected to a TV or larger screen.

This is also a classic Switch OLED with a large 7" screen that delivers immersive gameplay thanks to vibrant colors and deep contrast points. You can expect the Zelda world to look especially sharp here and better than on the standard switch. It still sports 64GB of internal storage and improved speakers for a better audio experience.
Unlike the standard Switch which doesn’t have the sturdiest kickstand, the OLED features a wider one which is a bit easier to adjust. You can also expand the storage of the Switch OLED with a microSD card.
Preorders are open now for the The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom special edition Switch OLED at Amazon or BestBuy. From either retailer the cost is $359 which is a bit of a premium for the custom design over a standard Switch OLED at $349.

If you’re planning to travel with the Switch OLED, Nintendo is also dropping a Tears of the Kingdom themed Carrying Case. It’s up for preorder at $24.99 for the themed case itself along with a screen protector. In fact, since a standard Switch or OLED will fit the case, you get a screen protector for each console.

How to Preorder The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Considering the special edition of the console doesn’t include the title, or if you already have a Switch and want to play the game, you can also preorder the latest Zelda. It ships a bit after the console on May 12, but is already up for order from a bunch of retailers.
As the much anticipated sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, this adventure will take you Hyrule both on the ground and in the sky. You’ll play as Link and fight for the kingdom with an array of abilities.

The game is up for preorder as a physical copy or as a digital code for $69. Either way, the title will be released on May 12. It will support the Nintendo Switch, Switch OLED, and the Switch Lite as well.
