A new nine-storey apartment block could be built on one of Cardiff's busiest roads if plans submitted to the council are approved. The proposed development on Penarth Road in the city centre would provide 68 new apartments as well as shops and underground parking.
If the plans are granted permission by Cardiff council's planning committee, the existing buildings on the site, including the former King David Tyres garage, will be demolished. Next door, Soapy Joes hand car wash would also be built on, with the temporary building there set to be knocked down.
It will be the latest change to the city centre's skyline if approved, with the huge redevelopment of the nearby former Brains site already underway. Get the latest planning news from the capital sent straight to your inbox for free by signing up to our dedicated Cardiff newsletter.
