
The UK appears to have successfully seen off its fifth wave of Covid-19 infections, although experts continue to fear that another could arrive this autumn unless proper precautions are taken.
The country saw a 43 per cent spike in coronavirus cases earlier this summer at the beginning of June, seemingly caused by people coming together to celebrate the late Queen’s platinum jubilee over the course of a four-day weekend.
