Nikola Vlasic is keen to leave West Ham after difficult season, says Ivica Olic

Former CSKA Moscow manager Ivica Olic has claimed Nikola Vlasic is ready to leave West Ham and potentially test him himself in Spain or Germany after a difficult season at the club.

Brought in last summer when a deal for Jesse Lingard proved impossible, the 24-year-old made little impact on his return to English football following a two-year stint at Everton between 2017 and 2018.

Having joined for a fee of around £25.7m, the Croatian international scored only one goal in 36 appearances across all competitions and was limited to just six Premier League starts.

As a result, Vlasic has been linked with a move back to Moscow, as well as another former club in the shape of Hadjuk Split, where he started his career.

David Moyes is keen to add another forward to his ranks this summer as the West Ham boss attempts to bolster a squad heading for their second consecutive season in European football.

Speaking to Soccer RU, Olic said: “I believe in Vlasic and I know there are a lot of teams that would like to sign him or take him on loan

“If West Ham give him the opportunity, then Nicola will change teams (and join a club) he will be given the chance play and where he can get in better shape. This will help him again become one of the leaders of the Croatian national team.

“I wish this for him from the bottom of my heart. I spoke with him. He wants to stay in Europe. For example, to test himself in the German or Spanish championships. He has options.”
