Nigel Jemson has insisted Nottingham Forest “want to be a force” in the Premier League following Jesse Lingard’s arrival.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the Reds legend could not contain his excitement after an announcement on Thursday that Forest had lured the ex-Manchester United midfielder - who has 32 England caps - to the City Ground.
Newcastle United, West Ham and several European clubs were reportedly interested in the 29-year-old, with concerns over his demands paving the way for Forest to get their man.

Supporters are excited to see the Three Lions star in Forest colours after a lengthy Premier League absence. Jemson - the League Cup hero for the Reds in 1989-90 - is relishing the prospect of Forest mixing it with England’s elite.
“It is a massive statement,” Jemson said. “When you've got a long day at work and you come home to hear that news - it is fantastic. It just goes to show that we're not here just to make the numbers up in the Premier League.
“We want to be a force there and the owners back the manager. We're making quite a few signings and I still think there are a couple more (to be made).
“He's (Lingard) playing in the Premier League, arguably the best in the world, and he's going to be playing regularly.
“He's not played much at Manchester United in the last couple of years so he’s going to love it. It is within distance of Manchester, with a fantastic group of lads that (Steve) Cooper has got together.
“I'm sure he's gonna come out and thrive on that. I bet he cannot wait to get started and once that whistle goes at the City Ground, it will be a great experience for him.”
