Nicole Shanahan, former presidential running mate of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has issued a strong warning to several U.S. Senators regarding the confirmation of RFK Jr. as secretary of Health and Human Services. Shanahan stated that she would fund primary challenges against senators who oppose RFK Jr.'s confirmation.
In a post on X, Shanahan directly addressed the senators, emphasizing her determination to take action if necessary. She highlighted her past support for Democratic candidates, including contributing to the successful Senate campaigns of Raphael Warnock and John Ossoff in Georgia.
Shanahan specifically called out Senators Mitch McConnell, Lindsey Graham, Lisa Murkowski, Susan Collins, Bill Cassidy, Thom Tillis, James Lankford, Cory Booker, John Fetterman, Bernie Sanders, and Catherine Cortez Masto, warning them of potential primary challenges if they vote against RFK Jr.

She urged supporters to contact their senators and advocate for RFK Jr.'s nomination. Shanahan's video message and subsequent social media posts included contact information for the mentioned senators.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a former Democratic candidate who later supported Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, was nominated by Trump to serve as HHS secretary. However, RFK Jr. must secure enough Senate support to be confirmed.
Shanahan's firm stance on the issue reflects her commitment to advocating for RFK Jr.'s appointment and holding senators accountable for their votes. Her threat to fund primary challengers underscores the intensity of the debate surrounding RFK Jr.'s nomination.
