Nicole Scherzinger has sparked a row after replying to a social media post by Russell Brand about Donald Trump winning the US Presidential Election.

A number of celebrities have been vocal about their shock and displeasure over the Republican candidate becoming the new president.

Many, including Miley Cyrus, Cher, Sharon Stone, Barbara Streisand and America Ferrera have even vowed to leave the US should he prove victorious at the polls.

While it remains to be seen if they meant it, an uneasy air remains as the dust settles.

Former Pussycat Doll singer Scherzinger, 46, raised eyebrows with her response to a photo Brand, who has shown support for Trump in the past, posted on Instagram after Trump’s victory that saw him holding up a red cap emblazoned with the words, “Make Jesus First Again.”

Scherzinger - who is currently starring on Broadway in Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Sunset Boulevard - wrote: “Where can I get this hat!?”

Her comment, which has since been deleted, led many to take it as an admission to her being a Trump fan due to the hat’s similarities with his MAGA hats that feature his slogan: “Make American Great Again.”

She also faced criticism for interacting online with Brand, who was the subject of a Channel 4 Dispatched documentary that saw four women accuse him of being a rapist and a sexual and emotional abuser. He has denied all the allegations against him.

Taking to social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to vent their frustration, with one person writing: “Nicole Scherzinger was enjoying a gorgeous gorgeous comeback/people started to take her seriously for the first time in her entire career. She tossed it to comment on a Russell Brand post??”

“Nicole Scherzinger nuking her public image at its most ascendant in years for a comment on a Russell f***ing Brand Instagram post is wild,” fumed a second.

While a third person put in: “My question is why is Nicole Scherzinger even following and interacting with Russell Brand in the first place.”

A representative for Scherzinger has been contacted for comment.
