Nicolas Raskin reckons Rangers built on Hampden showing with Ibrox win over Celtic

Nicolas Raskin reckons Rangers built on their Hampden heartache to secure a rousing Ibrox win over Celtic.

Michael Beale's side won the sixth and final Old Firm showdown of the campaign with a commanding Premiership success on Saturday.

Goals from Todd Cantwell and John Souttar had Rangers ahead at the break and Fashion Sakala rounded off the scoring midway through the second half.

It was a first derby win for Beale as a manager as Ange Postecoglou's side were denied an unbeaten campaign in the Old Firm fixtures.

Rangers were left with nothing to show for their efforts in the Scottish Cup clash last month but there were no feelings of what might have been on this occasion as Beale's side got the result that their performance merited.

Raskin told RangersTV: "I think we enjoyed it a lot. The atmosphere was great, the fans were great.

"We scored three goals, we got the clean sheet and I think we are all happy and can build on this performance for next season.

"We are at home, we have to give this energy. We also get the energy from the fans. Everybody was ready from the beginning and the goal helped us to continue.

"At the same time, I think the last game in the semi-final, especially the second half, we were already better than them. We just couldn't score goals.

"Now we put the same performance and score goals. It is great.

"We knew if we scored [early] it is a totally different game. The goal from Todd was nice and we scored just before half-time, [which] is also nice. We scored in the second half. It was crazy.

"I am happy for Robby (McCrorie) too. Two games and two clean sheets is good. We knew that if we get a clean sheet at home we would score goals and win the game. That is what happened.

[The atmosphere] was very good. The atmosphere was crazy. It gave us so much energy.

"I think we need them a lot and when they give energy and we put that energy on the pitch you can see a big difference for the team and the way we play."
