Nicolas Cage 's latest project The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent has received a number of rave reviews after making its premiere at a film festival this month.
The actor, 58, plays a fictionalised version of himself in the film, who attends the birthday party of a dangerous superfan, played by Game of Thrones ' Pedro Pascal, 46.
The film made its debut at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, just a few days ago - with the project having since received rave reviews from critics who saw it.
It was so well-received by the select group of critics at the premiere that it currently has a rare 100 percent "fresh" rating on review-aggregation site Rotten Tomatoes.
At the time of writing, the comedy film has 15 critic reviews on the platform, with there currently no feedback from a general audience as it's not been released in cinemas.
The reviews - which have been uploaded in the last couple of days - have been complimentary, with one critics saying the film will "leave you with a grin plastered on your face."

Rotten Tomatoes places films into three categories, based on critic feedback - as opposed as audience reviews. Those with less than 60 percent positive reviews are "rotten."
Those which have a score between 60 and 100 percent - like Cage's new film - however are deemed "fresh," though they can later be upgraded to "certified fresh" status.
"Certified fresh" is reserved for films with a score between 75 and 100 percent but which have reviews by at least 80 critics. It remains until the score drops below 70 percent.
This means that if the Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent continues to receive rave reviews as more critics upload their feedback, it could become "certified fresh."
A synopsis states: "Creatively unfulfilled and facing financial ruin, the fictionalized version of Cage must accept a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of a dangerous superfan."
It teases that things take a "wildly unexpected turn" when Cage is recruited by an intelligence operative - played by Tiffany Haddish, 42 - and must channel his "most iconic and beloved" characters to save himself and his loved ones.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent is set to be released in the UK on April 22.
