Scots should be able to welcome Ukrainian refugees into their homes “very soon” Nicola Sturgeon has said.
The First Minister expressed confidence that proposals for Scottish and Welsh governments to act as “super sponsors” of 3,000 Ukraine refugees will get the go-ahead after the UK government agreed to consider the plan.
Sturgeon told MSPs at Holyrood: “I am pleased to advise that the UK government has now indicated support for this proposal in principle, and has committed to working with us towards its immediate launch alongside the wider UK scheme.”
