NICOLA Sturgeon has received a £10,000 dividend from the company she set up after signing her book deal.
The former first minister declared the extra income in her MSPs register of interest for January.
It comes as Sturgeon announced an event in Edinburgh to take place after the release of her memoir.
Titled Frankly, the book is due to be released on August 14, with a “special event” at the Usher Hall set to follow it.
Previously, Sturgeon revealed she had received £75,000 as the first of four instalments from publishers Pan MacMillan for the book.
And now, her financial register on the Scottish Parliament website states that she received “£10,000 in the form of a dividend from my company” on January 31 of this year.
This means that she will only pay dividend tax on the sum and not the higher rate of income tax.

Tickets for the event with Sturgeon in Edinburgh following her book release start at £33.25 including booking fee, with more expensive seats at £73.95.
Anyone who wishes to attend a meet and greet with the SNP politician will have to pay £82.75 extra, also including the booking fee.
“Join me in Edinburgh’s iconic Usher Hall for this special event,” Sturgeon wrote on Instagram.
“I will reflect on my career in politics, from the early days in the Scottish Parliament to leading the country through historic and often turbulent times.
“In an in-depth interview followed by an audience Q&A, I will offer personal insights into leadership, public service, and the challenges and triumphs that have shaped my journey.
“I will also share some thoughts on what lies ahead – for me, for Scotland, and for politics more broadly.”
Sturgeon was cleared of wrongdoing last month after a years-long police probe into the SNP’s finances.
