Nicola Sturgeon has pushed back the date for scrapping face mask rules in Scotland. The Scottish First Minister had previously signalled it would move from being a legal requirement to being guidance on March 21.
She has insisted Scotland is making “steady progress back to normal life”. The First Minister said the delay will be reviewed in two weeks, with the “expectation” that it will be converted into guidance in April, the Daily Record reports.
Addressing MSPs, she said the average number of cases was just over 12,000 a day - up from 6,900 three weeks ago. The number of people who are in hospital with Covid has also shot up to 1,996 from 1,060 over the March 6.
