Nicola Sturgeon has sent her congratulations to the England women's football team on social media, after they beat Germany in Sunday nights Euro 2022 final.
The Lionesses went ahead thanks to a deft Ella Toone chip in the 62nd minute, but Germany equalised in the 79th minute with a Lina Magull strike. Extra time awaited, and Chloe Kelly had Wembley roaring when she scored the winner in the 110th minute.

Scotland's First Minister posted a celebratory message over on social media, writing on Twitter: "Brilliant @lionesses And just goes to show…when you want something done (or in [England] speak, ‘brought home’) ask the women!
" Many congratulations - well deserved champions! #WEURO2022 #Lionesses."
Nicola was also on hand to meet the Queen in June, as she gifted the monarch a special bottle of Johnnie Walker whisky during her Edinburgh visit.
Edinburgh Live reported that Sturgeon, who has met the monarch on several occasions, was captured presenting the bottle of Johnnie Walker to Her Majesty after she spied it sitting on the nearby table.
A video from inside the room captured the encounter between the pair, with Ms Sturgeon explaining the significance of each of the gifts prepared for Her Majesty, including the special bottle.
