Nicola Peltz Beckham says Brooklyn felt ‘a lot of pressure’ over career choices

Nicola Peltz has admitted her husband Brooklyn Beckham has felt “a lot of pressure” over pleasing people with his career choices in the past.

The 27-year-old actress and socialite, who married Beckham earlier this year, explained her love didn’t have it easy when trying to figure out what he liked to do.

Speaking to Tatler during a recent cover interview, Peltz said her husband has since been able to find inspiration through his love of being in the kitchen and she said he is “in heaven” working as a chef.

“He felt a lot of pressure to please people with his career and he didn’t love it,” she told the publication.

Beckham, who has recently revealed a love of cooking for other people, has shifted his career path several times in recent years. However, Peltz is confident her husband’s favourite place is surrounded by food.

“You can tell that when Brooklyn’s in the kitchen he’s in heaven,” Peltz added.

The actor also revealed it was her idea to start filming his cooking skills.

She said: “Ever since the pandemic, all he’s wanted to talk about is being in the kitchen, so I just started filming him one day. I said, “This is what you love.”’

Beckham revealed himself to be an aspiring chef last year and even launched a cooking series called Cookin’ With Brooklyn.

He has tried several career paths before settling on cooking.

Before, Beckham briefly tried to follow in his famous dad’s footsteps when he played for Arsenal’s youth football team.

However, he eventually moved on to other endeavours. He then tried his hand at modelling and photography.

Beckham also experimented with filming behind-the-scenes footage on the movie Lola James which was directed and starred by his wife Peltz.

Despite his shifting career choices, it looks like Beckham has since settled on cooking.

Speaking to the Evening Standard about his work, Beckaham explained: “I started doing football and I love that, then went into photography, which I am still in love with and now I do cooking. I’ve always been into trying new food, even if it is sometimes a bit not that great. I remember trying jellied eels because I’ve always liked pie and mash — and I did not like them at all.”
