There is no world in which finding a replacement for Nick Saban at Alabama was going to be an easy job — or one that many would jump at.
Not that the Alabama job isn’t desirable, but following someone like Saban is an impossible ask. Washington head coach Kalen DeBoer jumped at the chance, anyways, with the support of Saban.
The two coaches reconnected on Saturday’s edition of ESPN’s College GameDay ahead of No. 4 Alabama vs. No. 2 Georgia to talk about the transition. As much as the Crimson Tide fans were absolutely thrilled to see Saban back in Tuscaloosa, the former Alabama coach had an incredible quip about why DeBoer already has an advantage over his predecessor.

Whether or not that’s entirely true, it’s another fantastic (and hilarious) show of support for DeBoer’s regime from Saban — who continues to prove he’s pretty dang entertaining on TV.
