Nick Pope has reflected on Newcastle United's 0-0 draw with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park. The England stopper helped seal a point in front of the watching England boss Gareth Southgate.
Newcastle were held by the Eagles but it was Pope's stunning save from Jean-Philippe Mateta that ensured they left with a point.
Looking back on the game, Pope said: "It’s not an easy place to come, but we have to back ourselves to take some chances.

"You can be happy with three-quarters of the pitch, but it’s the opposition box where you should make it count. We’re disappointed with today, but when we look back at the first half of the season we can be proud.
"We have to be hungry. We have to have that desire to keep pushing ourselves. That’s going to be important going forward."
And speaking about that save from the Palace star, Pope told Sky Sports: "I didn’t see much of it but luckily I got something on it and managed to tip it over. I’m pleased with it. You train for those split-second moments."
