Hibernian head coach Nick Montgomery admits the 2-2 draw with Kilmarnock will "annoy him for a little bit" after he watched his side throw away a two-goal lead with half an hour to play.
Goals from Kyle Vassell and Joe Wright earned Killie a point after a Will Dennis own goal and Dylan Vente had put Hibs in the driving seat.
And Montgomery was clearly frustrated at full time. He said: “To go 2-0 up away from home and not kill the game off was disappointing. I thought the boys played some really good stuff; it’s not an easy place to come.
“But as soon as we conceded the first goal it gave them a little bit of momentum. It’s very disappointing not to take all three points but all credit to Kilmarnock who showed great fight.”
With just a handful of days to work with his players since his Monday unveiling, the former Central Coast Mariners boss insisted there were plenty of positives to take from the game.
“There were a lot of positives, it was a real team effort, even the boys who came off the bench,” he added.
“We probably had enough chances to win the game but come the end of the season we might look back on this as a good point. But right now it hurts to concede from a set-piece, it’s going to annoy me for a little bit.
"Defending set-pieces is probably something that's let them down since the start of the season but other than that I thought we defended well.
"It's not easy to cram everything into a week but the boys have been really receptive. I’m really proud of their effort but there’s plenty to work on too.”
