Nick Grimshaw lands first major job since quitting Radio 1 alongside Emma Willis

Nick Grimshaw has revealed his first major job since quitting Radio 1.

The TV and radio host will be seen transforming family homes across the UK in a new Channel 4 series.

Oldham-born Nick, 37, said he is "obsessed with all things design" and can’t wait to co-host The Great Home Transformation.

And he gets to do it alongside Emma Willis.

Announcing the news on Instagram alongside a photo of himself and his new co-star, Nick said: “Ooooooh I am so excited to announce that me and @emmawillisofficial are joining forces for a brand new series on @channel4.

"As you know I am obsessed with all things design so cannot wait for you to see how we are gonna be transforming family homes across the UK.

"The Great Home Transformation is coming to your screens this spring."

Emma, 45, also posted on Instagram, saying she and Grimshaw will be "transforming family homes across the country in just three days" and hinted that the show uses a "revolutionary truck, specialist technology, and interior design intelligence".

Sharing a snap of herself and Nick both clutching on to piles of cushions, she said: "This Spring we will be transforming family homes across the country in just three days, with the help of a revolutionary truck, specialist technology and interior design intelligence.

"Isn’t that right @nicholasgrimshaw?! The #GreatHomeTransformation is coming soon to @channel4."

Strictly Come Dancing star, and Emma's other co-host, AJ Odudu was among the first to comment, writing: "BUZZING!!!!!" with a red heart on Emma's post.

Nick has landed the role after leaving BBC Radio One, where he hosted a variety of shows over 14 years, last summer.

He bids an emotional farewell on-air as he hosted his last show in August after announcing his plans to leave in June.

Nick said at the time said it was "time to go and maybe make some other dreams come true" after admitting to leaving his "childhood dream".
