Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb’s broken foot is this team’s latest and worst gut punch. That says something because the 2024 Browns 3-11 season has been a colossal disappointment between injuries and subpar play. Many are questioning what direction this team will go in next year with the coaching staff and players.

Nick Chubb has been this team’s guiding light, no matter how bad things got. Losing him early in the 2023 season was bad, but the team rebounded. He joined the team midseason, and everyone was happy to see him. In eight games, he rushed for 332 yards and three touchdowns. Fans were ready for Chubb to break loose once he got more reps.
Now, he has to recover from yet another lower-body injury, a broken foot. The only good news is that Browns’ Coach Kevin Stefanski said it did not require surgery. Chubb is the consummate professional, the humble and quiet worker.

The team will have his back once again as he no doubt tackles rehab with unmatched fervor.

Chubb turns 29 on December 27. How many more of these recoveries does he have in him? Browns fans want this team to win with Chubb on the roster, but the chances are slipping away.
An even trickier situation emerges with Chubb becoming a free agent after this season. Will the Browns re-sign him? Chubb said repeatedly that he loves playing in Cleveland and wants to finish his career there.
Chubb is 432 rushing yards away from becoming the franchise’s second all-time rusher. Will he get a chance to eclipse Leroy Kelly who has 7,274 yards and conclude his career in Cleveland?
