Brave Nick Carter took to the stage to perform for fans just one day after his younger brother Aaron Carter was found dead.
Nick, 42, made the courageous decision to push on with the scheduled Backstreet Boys tour date at London's O2 Arena tonight despite learning that his baby brother had died only yesterday.
The chart-topping star was later seen breaking down in tears on stage as a slideshow of photos of him and Aaron played out on the big screen as part of a touching tribute to him.
Bandmate Kevin Richardson also took to the mic to make a speech on behalf of Nick - who was too overcome by emotion to speak.
Kevin remarked upon the profound loss they felt as a "family" as he thanked the crowd for their messages of support and condolence.
Fans of the band were stunned to see that Nick was still joining the band as they stepped onto stage for the show as part of their DNA tour.
Attendees of the gig speculated all day that Nick might have jetted back to LA after the tragic news of Aaron passing away broke.
However, he was present to give gig goers the planned show - with the atmosphere in the arena described as "emotional," especially as Nick began to well up a few songs in while performing BSB hit Incomplete.
Backstreet Boys fan Robert Earnest spoke to Mirror.co.uk from the crowd as he described how fans were doing their best to make Nick feel their love and support when he appeared on stage.
He told The Mirror: "It's so emotional, Nick is getting massive cheers every time he sings. the atmosphere is crazy. It just feels like everyone is doing their best to support Nick by cheering him on."
Fans of the band were also overcome with emotion as they shared in their idol's grief.
Robert added: "Lots of people are crying and hugging each other, there's a real sense of unity, even though they don't know him it's like everyone is feeling Nick's grief and trying to help him through it."
Nick and his family members were left devastated when Aaron, 34, was found unresponsive in his bath yesterday.
Earlier today Nick took to Instagram to pay tribute to his brother in an emotional post as he shared images of them over the years since childhood.
He wrote: "My heart is broken. Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded.
"I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed.
"Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here.
"I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz. Now you can finally have the peace you could never find here on earth….I love you baby brother."
Backstreet Boys are also scheduled to perform in Manchester at the AO Arena on Tuesday (November 8) with no announcement made as yet over any plans to cancel the final dates of the tour before the band return to America.
