NIA, agencies team up for Tiger Warrior campaign

Mr Pun-Arj says Thailand needs new solutions to weather the various economic, social and environmental challenges.

The National Innovation Agency (NIA) is joining hands with 15 state and private organisations to launch a new campaign to provide local entrepreneurs with a variety of non-financial support to enhance their innovative capacity to stay competitive.

The Tiger Warrior project enables local firms to receive assistance, privileges and discounts from using the services provided by the 15 partner organisations.

The campaign is meant to equip them to be innovation-based enterprises.

NIA executive director Pun-Arj Chairatana said the world has been hampered by economic woes, the pandemic and the impact from climate changes over the past three years, while entrepreneurs without effective business plans have been bearing the brunt.

Thailand needs new solutions to weather the various economic, social and environmental challenges, he said.

The NIA can serve as a focal facilitator of innovation through collaboration with related parties, said Mr Pun-Arj.

The Tiger Warrior project is meant to support the entire value chain of innovation, offering support from allied agencies in the public and private sectors, he said.

The project is expected to create Thai innovative brands through a strong network of partners.

The goal is to facilitate the innovation value chain, including manufacturing, management and development for growth, said Mr Pun-Arj.

"These are weapons that can help Thai entrepreneurs compete during this crisis," he said.

Seven assistant service areas are focal points of the project: manufacturing; management; finance and accounting; business and marketing plans; law and intellectual property; logistics; and international trade.

Mr Pun-Arj said the 15 allied organisations include the Science and Technology Park of Chiang Mai University, Food Innovation and Packaging Center, Thailand Institute of Scientific and Technological Research, UIC Certification Services Co, Accounting Transformation Co, Yes You Can Co and Builk One Group Co.

Others include Baker & McKenzie, Intellectual Property Consultoria Office, TV Direct Plc, Fast Chip Co, Chanwanich Co, Thailand Smart Trade Centre, eTouch Co as well as Thai Business Incubators and Science Parks Association.

"The NIA hopes Tiger Warrior's participating entrepreneurs will be able to grow strongly in the business world," he said.
