Speaking following the announcement of the awards, Belfast Live Editor Sheena McStravick said: "We are delighted to be on board with this fantastic event to shine a light on our incredible female athletes.

"So many women across the country are paving the way and inspiring future generations to go after and achieve their dreams in whatever sport they choose and we quite rightly should be celebrating that. It's been an amazing year for women in sport and we are excited to see that continue and go from strength to strength in 2023."

All you have to do to nominate your favourite sportswoman is fill in the form below:

The prestigious awards ceremony will be hosted by UTV sports personality and hockey ace Ruth Gorman who joins a star-studded judging panel. Including Belfast Live's very own Zoe Watson, who said. "I'm absolutely thrilled to be on the judging panel of the first Women In Sport Awards. As a player/coach with Rosario FC, I've seen the meteoric rise in women and young girls' sport over the last few years and it's great to see this being recognised in such a way.

"Northern Ireland not only has a tremendous amount of female sporting talent but hundreds of devoted women working in the background who no one ever sees. I'm really looking forward to reading the inspirational stories from all the entrants and wish everyone the best of luck."

Sponsored by fuel provider Go, the awards are another groundbreaker for Ireland's first and only female sports publication, Local Women Sports Magazine. The gala awards at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Belfast will simultaneously raise money for The Mary Peters Trust, which aids the development of young sportspeople, and celebrate the first birthday of the magazine.
