NHS workers in Leeds have shared how they are feeling working Christmas Day following strike action.
While many of us are looking forward to the festive few days, for many medical workers the reality is working long hours throughout Christmas week, amplified by the ongoing staff issues. "We've just got to get on with it," a Leeds pharmacy technician said.
It comes after many NHS trusts across Yorkshire will be impacted by nationwide nursing strikes. Last week thousands of nurses joined the picket line strike outside Leeds General Infirmary, and today NHS appointments and operations have been cancelled because of another strike, with the health service running a bank holiday-style service in many areas.
