New Delhi: The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has directed the Member Secretary of the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) to appear virtually at the next hearing and disclose the status of its laboratory and the equipment available for testing, after the pollution control body informed the tribunal that it did not have the necessary equipment to conduct groundwater analysis around the Ghazipur landfill site.
A bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava and Expert Member Dr. Afroz Ahmad passed the direction while hearing a matter concerning a major fire at the Ghazipur landfill in Delhi, following a news report published in the media on April 21, 2024.
