The Rams and 49ers are bitter rivals, but Sunday’s matchup in the season finale doesn’t have the same anticipation that many of their past battles have had. That’s because both teams plan to rest at least some of their starters, including Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey.
It’s hard to predict which team will come out with a win in Sunday’s game at Levi’s Stadium because each team’s plan is unknown, but the experts are still favoring the 49ers’ backups over the Rams’. According to Tallysight, only 35% of experts are picking the Rams to win on Sunday but 55% are taking them to cover the spread as 4-point underdogs.
For the over/under, 53% are taking the over at 41 points.
The Rams have lost nine straight regular-season games to the 49ers and haven’t beaten them at Levi’s Stadium since 2018. They’d love to snap that losing streak by winning on Sunday, but not more than they’d like to enter the playoffs fully healthy with no major injuries.
It’ll be interesting to see how Sean McVay handles the workload of his starters on Sunday but don’t expect many of them to play the whole game.
