If there were any questions about who should be the favorite for the NFL’s Most Valuable Player race, Brock Purdy provided answered on Sunday in Glendale. In a return to his home state, the young passer dazzled during the San Francisco 49ers’ playoff-clinching victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 15.
Purdy cruised to a four-touchdown performance on 16-of-25 passing for 242 yards against the Cardinals. Purdy spread the ball around, hitting six different pass catches with at least two receptions each on his way to a 135.3 passer rating and 93.0 QBR.
The former Iowa State Cyclone dialed up two touchdown throws to Deebo Samuel and another two to Christian McCaffrey on the day. Purdy had two completions over 35 or more yards against the Cardinals.
On his way to 29 touchdown passes through 14 games, Purdy now has three different contests with four touchdown tosses this season.
