Garrett Wilson's next team odds offer 3 potential trade destinations

The New York Jets are falling apart at the seams. If things didn’t appear bad enough from the outside of their disappointing 4-10 start to the 2024 NFL season, an in-depth report from The Athletic released on Thursday laid out the obvious dysfunction that takes place behind closed doors.

There are more than a handful of questions about the team and it’s future. Will Aaron Rodgers come back to what appears to be a broken situation? If he doesn’t, what happens to Davante Adams and his ballooning contract?

But what about the player who is perhaps the most valuable member of the Jets’ offense, given his age and skill set? Will Garrett Wilson stay on what appears to be a sinking ship? Or will he demand that he be traded in the coming months?

NFL: 3 Possible Trade Destinations For Garrett Wilson

The sportsbook at Bovada already has betting lines available. Here are the odds and outlook for the top-3 choices on the betting board:

Kansas City Chiefs +300

The Chiefs have been the first team mentioned in wide receiver trade talks for multiple years now. Despite their success, Kansas City has lacked firepower in their pass-catching unit in both 2023 and 2024, which they’ve tried to bolster with guys like Hollywood Brown and DeAndre Hopkins.

But a guy like Garrett Wilson could be the young, elite talent that they could try to pair with Patrick Mahomes for the near future. Bovada gives the Chiefs a +300 designation, the smallest of any team on the board, and will be a team to watch as it pertains to the entire WR market.

Houston Texans +500

The Texans have one of the better young receiving duos in the NFL in Nico Collins and Tank Dell, but they’ll have a void to fill at the position this coming off-season. Stefon Diggs has an expiring contract in 2025, which will free up spending money as well as create a roster spot for Houston, and Robert Woods will be off of the books as well.

They might turn to the trade market for the second year in a row to attempt to bolster the stable of weapons for quarterback CJ Stroud. Should Wilson ask for a trade out of New York, he would likely become the most coveted available wideout, and a certain target for WR-hungry teams like the Texans.

Wilson played his high school ball in nearby Austin, Texas.

Chicago Bears +500

The Bears could be under an entirely new regime in 2025, which would bring some sweeping changes. One of the points of emphasis would be keeping up with surrounding quarterback Caleb Williams with talent, as Chicago only has three wide receivers under contract for 2025.

Wilson would likely seek a new contract from whichever team opts to trade for him, but he would be one of the better bargains in the NFL for the final year of his current deal. He is set to make under $7 million for 2025, making him one of the better bargains in the NFL. As it stands today, the Bears are projected to have the 5th-most cap space of any team this coming off-season.

Wilson was born in Chicago.
