NFL superstar sends clear message to Aaron Rodgers amid Las Vegas Raiders trade rumours

A Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver and long-time teammate of Aaron Rodgers is hopeful that they will reunite in the upcoming 2023 season as trade rumours continue to swirl.

That man, of course, is Davante Adams, who spent eight years with the Packers as Rodgers' go-to receiver - becoming the best wideout in the NFL in recent years.

Adams once again lead the league in receiving touchdowns this past year, his first year with the Raiders after being traded away from the Packers.

That trade always seemed to be a strange one from the start, when the Packers decided to take away Rodgers' favourite receiving option and not adequately replace him. This lead to offensive struggles for the team, who missed the playoffs this past season.

Numerous reports have emerged since the end of the regular season, with Rodgers not committing to remaining with the Packers, while the team itself is reportedly considering moving the legendary passer, in order to acquire draft capital and give first-round draft pick Jordan Love the opportunity to start.

That leaves Rodgers with a few potential landing spots to play next year, with the Raiders likely being high on his priority list. The Raiders are expected to move on from long-time starter Derek Carr, who has struggled in previous seasons with the team looking for an upgrade at the position.

That trade would reunited Rodgers with Adams, and instantly make the Raiders a Super Bowl contender, while having a strong roster on paper.

When asked if Adams would like to see Rodgers join, he said: "Duh. Why would anybody not do that. I mean 100 percent, that's my guy. Wishful thinking, but we'll see what happens."

When asked on what his pitch would be to Rodgers, he simply said: "That I'm here. I think that's a pretty good one."

He later added: "Would I be interested in having Aaron Rodgers throw to me? Yes. I would love that, I would love to have that, and obviously, that would be a dream scenario. One that I’m very familiar with."

Adams initially joined the Raiders last summer to reunite with Carr, his former quarterback in college at Fresno State.

But while Adams shone, Carr struggled and was benched for the final three games of the season, something Adams was disappointed in.

Speaking on Carr, he said: "I understand it's part of the game. I don't have full control, but I do have some, so I control the things I can. And the things that I can't, I just let other people deal with those. It's not gonna stop us from being really good friends at the end of the day.

"I'll still be able to mingle and see him whenever I want too basically, so it's not the end at the end of the day. Maybe he won't be my quarterback, but still one of my good friends for life regardless."
