NFL superstar Lamar Jackson to 'get no offers' amid Baltimore Ravens saga

Lamar Jackson could shockingly receive no offers from NFL teams this off-season, which could force him to remain with the Baltimore Ravens.

The former MVP's long-term future remains unclear after the Ravens used their non-exclusive franchise tag on the quarterback - after the two parties could not agree on a long-term deal.

This version of the franchise tag means that Jackson is free to discuss a deal with other teams, while his current team have the opportunity to match any offer that he his given elsewhere. If the Ravens do not match that deal, Jackson would join the highest bidder, with that team sending two first-round picks as compensation.

While it's a hefty price to pay, giving Jackson a max-deal while also sending away two first-round picks, some teams may have seen that as a bargain, signing a former MVP at the age of just 26 years old

Jackson was due to be out of contract at the end of this month despite the two parties being in talks over a fresh deal for the better part of two years, with the quarterback reportedly wanting a contract similarly to Deshaun Watson's who had around $200 million guaranteed.

And while he may have been expecting that, with the Atlanta Falcons, Las Vegas Raiders, New York Jets just a few teams linked with Jackson, it appears no team has shown real interest in him so far.

ESPN reporter Jeremy Fowler has said that he talked to a number of NFL teams and none of them can see a team in the league making an offer for Jackson, which could force him to stay in Baltimore.

Jackson has been speaking to the Ravens himself, acting as his own agent in a rare move for a player, with some critical of his decision to do so.

In a segment on ESPN's Get Up, Kimberley A Martin slammed that decision. She said: "The issue with Lamar not having an agent is a big one because an agent will go out there and ascertain who wants you and how much do they want you. They can do that work.

"Let's say Lamar wants 231 because Deshaun Watson got 230. Well, the Brown situation isn't the same as the Ravens'. The Ravens have an owner who literally said 'get me that guy, I want Deshaun Watson come hell or high water.' As we saw 230million is what he got.

"If Lamar Jackson had an agent who could go out and say 'is there another owner out here that wants my guy and is willing to give 230,' and if not then that severely hampers Lamar's negotiating strategy. Not having an agent has really been an issue because Lamar may have miscalculated the market out there for him."
