As Cardinals wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins continues to be included in trade rumor discussions, the five-time Pro Bowler apparently has been talking talking with Bills linebacker Von Miller.
The Buffalo star claimed that he’s been speaking with Hopkins and that the wide receiver admitted he would like to end up with the Bills.
“I talk to Hop all the time and it’s kind of like the same thing with OBJ,” Miller said, via the Buffalo News. “You just never know until you know. Hop said he wanted to be a Buffalo Bill and you never know until you get that DeAndre Hopkins signature on a contract. I’m not sure what the circumstances are or what’s going on with that but I would love to see DeAndre Hopkins be here and I would love to have his skill set on our offense with Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs and Dawson Knox and Gabe Davis.”
Miller was one of the Bills players attempting to bring Odell Beckham Jr. to Buffalo late last year and this offseason, but their efforts fell short as the wide receiver signed with the Ravens last week.
Miller’s comments come two days after a video from the All Things Covered podcast went viral in which Hopkins made facial reactions while they named off NFL teams he could see himself going to. When Buffalo was listed, Hopkins smiled at the camera.
However, a report from Tim Graham of The Athletic on March 28 explained that the Bills will not trade for Hopkins “barring a significant development.” Hopkins remains on the Cardinals with just over a week to go until the 2023 NFL draft.
