Le'Veon Bell has challenged former NBA star Deron Williams to a boxing fight as he eyes a quick return to the ring after his successful debut.
Bell made his boxing bow when he took on fellow American football star Adrian Peterson on the Social Gloves 2 card headlined by AnEson Gib's win over Austin McBroom last weekend. The NFL star made a huge impression on his debut knocking out his rival despite not being declared a winner with the event put on as an exhibition.
The fight was a back and forth affair with Bell also being dropped himself and learning several lessons from his opening encounter in the ring. However he has already plotted his next challenge following the convincing display, and believes the former three-time NBA all-star Williams would be a good test next month.
Paul proposed the bout on the latest episode of his BS W/ Jake Paul show, telling Bell on FaceTime: "Deron Williams v Le'Veon Bell, let's talk. Let's get it popping you have 48 days from now and you fight on the 29th." The NFL star responded: "Let's f***ing do it bro, you fight the 29th. Right right s***. I'd fight Deron Williams after he got his win. "
He then concluded the chat: "That is fire we can make that happen. We will get in touch and talk business but I really like that fight a lot." Williams previously suggested he has no future in boxing after recording a split decision victory over Frank Gore in his only appearance in the ring at the end of last year.
Gore was also an NFL running back in a similar way to Bell, who reached the Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs and has also made two All Pro teams during his career. The current free agent was delighted with his display against Peterson and believes he has the platform to compete in boxing for a longer duration.

Paul faces UFC legend Anderson Silva on October 29 in Phoenix in his sixth professional fight and Bell would like to follow in the footsteps of Gore by competing on the rising star's event. But before talking his future, Bell expressed his delight at his performance when scoring a KO over Peterson last weekend.
"I had a great performance, I put in a lot of hard work," Bell said of his win. "All the hate that just motivates me, it was a badge of honour on my shoulder and I use it to be the best I can be. I envisioned this happening and for it come true, I'm not surprised, but I'm just so happy.
"Boxing is one of the biggest challenges I've ever had to pick up. It's about how far you want to go, you have something inside you that says you need to keep going further. I want to see how far I can go, I want to test my limits."
