NFL star Calais Campbell’s brother faces murder charge after mother’s death

Calais Campbell NFL Murder

Ciarre Campbell, brother of Baltimore Ravens defensive lineman Calais Campbell, has been arrested and charged with murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a knife.
The charges stem from the death of their mother, Nateal Campbell, 71, who was found unresponsive with several cuts to her neck at the family's Buckhead, Georgia, townhome on June 30.
Police responded to a welfare check and stated it appeared to be a domestic incident, noting indications of possible mental health issues with an individual and prior calls to the address, including for a possible arson incident.
Ciarre Campbell's defense attorney maintains his client's innocence and requests privacy for the family.
The Campbell family and the Baltimore Ravens have issued statements expressing their devastation and offering condolences, and have asked for privacy during this difficult time.
