The entire AFC South is sitting at .500 after the first four weeks of the 2023 season.
The only team in the division that entered Week 4 with a winning record was the only one that lost Sunday. The Indianapolis Colts lost 29-23 to the Los Angeles Rams in overtime, dropping them back down to 2-2.
Earlier in the day, the Jacksonville Jaguars got back in the win column with a 23-7 win over the Atlanta Falcons in London. The Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans also got to 2-2 with comfortable wins over the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals, respectively.
With nearly a quarter of the season in the books, here’s how the teams technically rank based on tiebreakers:
- Indianapolis Colts: 2-2
- Houston Texans: 2-2
- Tennessee Titans: 2-2
- Jacksonville Jaguars: 2-2
Yes, the Jaguars are still last place based off tiebreakers that definitely won’t matter for long.
Indianapolis gets the top spot thanks to a 2-1 record in AFC play and a strength of victory tiebreaker that puts them ahead of the Titans. Then the Texans get the second spot over the remaining three teams thanks to a 1-0 record in head-to-head play among the trio.
The Jaguars then slot in behind the Titans because of the latter’s superior conference record.
The Colts and Titans will play each other in Week 3, while the Texans will travel to play the Falcons and the Jaguars will meet the Buffalo Bills in London.
