The NFL kicked off its 2024 season with record-breaking viewership, averaging 21.0 million viewers per game during Week 1, the league and Nielsen announced on Wednesday. This represents a 12% increase over last year, making it the most-watched Week 1 since Nielsen began electronically tracking viewership in 1988.
In total, 123 million people tuned in to at least part of one game, marking the highest total since 2019 for the NFL’s opening week.
