Let’s consider this the kickoff of 2025 NFL mock draft season.
We’ve already dropped a 2025 mock from our Christian D’Andrea and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders wasn’t even the first QB off the board (although he was projected to go No. 4 to the Carolina Panthers). But in the first 2025 NFL mock draft from ESPN courtesy of Jordan Reid, it’s Deion’s son off the board first overall to … the Cleveland Browns.
There’s so much to unpack here, like what the Browns would do with Deshaun Watson and all that dead cap money. But if you need a new QB, here you go.
Here’s what Reid wrote about the selection:
Sanders — currently my QB1 for the class — is a poised pocket passer whose game centers around his fantastic ball placement and good decision-making. His 72.6% completion rate ranks sixth in the nation. Sanders would be an ideal fit for Kevin Stefanski’s scheme, as he can operate from multiple platforms and has the pocket vision to immediately make an impact at the next level.
