The 1-5 start for the Broncos has been highlighted by a few losses that were tough to swallow, and now in the same 24-hour span as Russell Wilson’s worst offensive showing of the season, there’s a dark cloud of doubt cast over his future in Denver.
It’s reportedly “unclear” whether Sean Payton will bring Wilson back beyond this season, according to The Athletic’s Dianna Russini. Beyond that, Russini went as far as saying that she would “be surprised” if Wilson was part of the Broncos’ future as well.
In the Week 6 loss to the Chiefs, Wilson threw for just 95 yards, completing 13-of-22 passes his second-lowest percentage of the season. He also threw a touchdown but tossed two interceptions in the 19-8 loss.
