Jevon Holland’s stunning pick-six against the Jets last week was so thrilling that Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel found himself fully caught up in the moment.
On the final play of the first half, New York lined up for a Hail Mary attempt—and it went terribly wrong. Not only was Tim Boyle’s desperate heave picked off by Holland at the goal line, the third-year safety proceeded to run it all the way back for a touchdown.
It was a remarkable play that sent the Miami sideline into hysterics. And because the Dolphins are being followed by NFL Films cameras for the in-season edition of Hard Knocks, we got a fantastic view of how Miami coach Mike McDaniel reacted to the play.

Because there was no time on the clock after the play concluded, McDaniel’s first instinct was to run to the locker room to begin preparing his halftime adjustments. He was all the way to the opposite corner of the field by the time he turned around and said quite flatly to one of his assistants, “Extra point.”
Yeah, Mike, you still had to kick the extra point.
It’s funny because the video also shows kicker Jason Sanders and long snapper Blake Ferguson immediately running out on the field to line up for the extra point. Good thing they were more on top of it than their coach.
