One would think that the NFL would make sure everything — especially the field — was in peak condition for the Super Bowl, but that obviously wasn’t the case at State Farm Stadium in Sunday’s contest.
Players were slipping and sliding all over the place on the turf during the game, and naturally, fans of both teams were not happy.
Complaints about the playing surface in Glendale are nothing new — the field has become notorious in recent years. When the Kansas City Chiefs traveled to play the Arizona Cardinals back in Week 1, coach Andy Reid had some choice words after two Chiefs players left the game with injuries.
This is an entirely new field that was put in place specifically for Super Bowl LVII, but it seems the problems have remained. NFL fans took to Twitter to voice their displeasure.
never heard of Tahoma 31 grass before tonight, but I hate it

No football game, let alone Super Bowl, should be played on that field ever again until it's fixed…
This is horrendous.#Eagles

Slippery Field is a great name for a jazz musician. Bad condition for Super Bowl turf.

the fact they are playing a super bowl on turf that both teams hate — and are slipping on, constantly — tells you everything you need to know about the nfl
