Lions quarterback Jared Goff harkened back to the viral photo of Peyton Manning from his playing days on Thursday with a bright red helmet pad mark in the middle of his forehead.
The clip of Goff was captured during Thursday’s national anthem ahead of Detroit’s Thanksgiving Day game against the visiting Packers. Naturally, as soon as the cameras panned over to Goff’s forehead during the anthem, the jokes commenced across social media.
Here’s the still shot of Goff’s forehead that had NFL fans in a tizzy.

Amid all the jokes, Goff entered Thursday with his Lions looking to pick up another divisional win and an opportunity to move to 9–2 on the season.
Detroit, along with San Francisco, and Dallas, are all in the hunt for the No. 1 seed, looking to catch the top-seeded Eagles. Philadelphia moved to 9–1 on the year with a win on Monday night against the Chiefs.
