First they moved up from 109 to 104 to take Maryland CB Jakorian Bennett. Then with their next pick at 144, they moved up to 135 to take…
Aidan O’Connell, QB, Purdue
They sent picks 144 and 214 to the Patriots to get O’Connell.
In O’Connell, the Raiders get the developmental QB they wanted behind Jimmy Garoppolo.
The 6-3, 213-pounder threw for an average of over 3500 yards the past two seasons for the Boilermakers with a combined 50 TD’s and 26 INT’s.
His 2022 season saw him take a step back from his 2021 numbers across the board. His redshirt senior year in 2021 he had a completion percentage of 71.6, throwing for 3712 with 28 TD, and 11 INT. All of those numbers came down last season which is not what NFL talent evaluators like to see.
