NFL Draft 2023: The best players still available heading into day three

The NFL Draft always throws up a number of surprises each year.

While expert analysts can predict, with some even having inside information on who teams might take, we never really know who anyone is going to draft until their name is read out on stage - or, in these days, tweeted out by an NFL insider.

But this year especially has seen a number of highly surprising outcomes. The biggest one, being the dramatic fall of Kentucky quarterback Will Levis. The star had been heavily projected to go in the top five, but fell out of the first round completely - which not one single expert had predicted.

As well as Levis, a number of players have fallen significantly this year - with some even being available to select on day three.

Day three will see rounds four, five, six and seven take place - the latter stages of the draft in which teams are looking for value in the players that had not been projected to have solid careers in the league but may have the traits or the mentality to make it at the next level.

A number of superstars emerge from being day three picks every year - with Tom Brady, Richard Sherman and Antonio Brown all being selected in the later rounds - and just last year quarterback Brock Purdy was the very last pick of the process and ended up leading the San Francisco 49ers into the Play-Offs.

Here, Mirror NFL takes a look at the best 10 players still available for teams to pick on Saturday afternoon.

Dawand Jones (Offensive tackle)

An absolute behemoth of a man, Dawand Jones stands at 6'10 and 360lbs... which might just be the problem.

Jones had been projected as a first-round talent by some, with a number of analysts ranking him higher than players taken in the top 20. However, he might just be too big for the NFL - playing a position in which leverage is so important.

Luke Wypler (Center)

Jones teammate, Wypler has been a solid starting center for Ohio State and CJ Stroud, with some believing him to be the best in the class.

Wypler was reportedly considered by a number of teams in the second round, but he remains available heading into the fourth.

Chandler Zavala (Guard)

An absolute mauler of an offensive lineman, Zavala has fallen in the draft likely because of the school he goes to, which is NC State.

It's not a conference with solid talent to go up against, however, Zavala had been absolutely dominant whenever he has played.

Adetomiwa Adebawore (Defensive end)

Without doubt the biggest shock of the draft after Will Levis - Adebawore was being projected to go 10th overall to the Philadelphia Eagles by some earlier this year.

At 280lbs, Adebawore managed to run a 4.8 in the 40-yard dash - quicker than Seattle Seahawks' first-round wide receiver Jaxson Smith-Njigba.

Whoever selects him on day three will likely find themselves brandished as the winners of the final day.

Kelee Ringo (Cornerback)

Another player who was being heavily predicted to be a first-round pick, Georgia star Ringo is an absolute speedster at the cornerback position.

He's a raw prospect, and similar to Seahawks' Tariq Woolen, he has fallen beyond the third round. That worked out pretty well for Woolen. Expect Ringo to be selected early on Saturday.

Clark Phillips (Cornerback)

Phillips has likely fallen due to his size, limiting him to a slot cornerback role in the NFL.

While it's not seen as a valuable position, it's certainly an important one, with the league becoming very pass-heavy - multiple defensive backs are always needed.

JL Skinner (Safety)

A player who was being compared to All-Pro Kam Chancellor, the lanky safety Skinner has surprisingly fallen - likely due to his slender frame.

Whichever team drafts Skinner will be happy with his reckless play - at least their fans will be - he's a fun guy to watch.

Noah Sewell (Linebacker)

Younger brother of Detroit Lions superstar Penei Sewell, Noah is an uber-athletic linebacker who flies around the field and makes plays.

Coming from an athletic family, it was presumed Sewell would go on day three after what he showed in his final years at Oregon.

Henry To'oTo'o (Linebacker)

One of the better players on Alabama's dominant defense, Henry To'oTo'o is another linebacker who remains available.

A defensive leader, To'oTo'o will almost certainly have a long career in the league due to his ability to read the game and get to the football.

Tyler Scott (Wide receiver)

A running back turned wide receiver, Scott is an offensive weapon when he has the ball in his hands.

That lack of experience at the position will be the reason he has fallen after being projected to be a second round pick, but if he's able to tighten up his skills at the position, he could be a legitimate star very quickly.
